- Make sure your oil or gas boiler or heat pump are fully operating systems (performing annual preventive maintenance every year).
- Check that the heating and domestic hot water pipes are properly insulated, otherwise call your installer.
- In the case of a condensing boiler, check the drain end so that there is a proper flow of condensate, without the risk of the condensate freezing and the boiler stopping.
- Keep the room thermostat at constant temperatures above 20 °C so that the heating function is active.
- Activate the hot water heating function (for Ariston & Chaffoteaux it is the "COMFORT" function) to keep the heat exchanger warm during non-heating hours.
- In the event of a holiday home or if you are away from home for days, do not turn off the heat pump or boiler so that the antifreeze function can be activated.
- In case of gas boiler, do not turn off the gas supply so that the antifreeze function can be activated.
- In the case of an oil boiler, do not turn off the oil supply so that the antifreeze function can be activated.
