How do the Neoperl water savers work?
The installation of Neoperl's water & thermal energy saving products is easily done either in a new or in an existing system. By using them, the water flow is reduced, as the water coming out of the tap is mixed with more air, resulting in a full flow, light and pleasant.
This ensures that the amount of water flow is as much as needed. No more or less. This allows you to save on water and thermal energy, while protecting the environment without having to sacrifice the level of comfort you are used to.
Water saving for washbasin taps
Tap water savers are available in various designs. They differ, for example, in terms of the technology installed or the flow rate. For washbasins it is recommended that the water flow rate is between 1,9 and 7 l/min.
Water saving for kitchen taps
The above water savers are also suitable for kitchen taps, but it is recommended that the water supply (flow rate) is 8lt/min.
Water saving for showers - bathtubs
Water savers for showers can be installed in a minimum of time either in the shower spiral or in the battery, it is recommended that the water supply (flow rate) is between 6 and 9lt/min.

Generally there are two options for controlling the flow.
Type A: Faucet aerators with flow restriction
In this simple application, the flow is limited through the size of the flow bore so that it precisely corresponds to a set value for a certain pressure range (e.g., 3 bar / 43.5 psi).
Neoperl refers to the products used for this as "flow restrictors". Flow restrictors have a low flow rate at low pressure, while at high pressure the flow rate is often higher than necessary.
Type B: Faucet aerators with integral flow regulator (PCA)
PCA faucet aerators are equipped with an integral flow regulator. The pressure-balancing o-ring helps to achieve an almost constant flow rate regardless of possible pressure fluctuations.
In addition to the water-saving effect, a constant flow rate allows water to be distributed evenly across multiple draw-off points and complies with standards in many markets now.
How does it work:
Static conditions (no flow or low pressure) - The elastomer is loose (position 1)
Dynamic state (flow)
The elastomer subjected to the pressure line is compressed at its point of application and reduces the passage of water (position 2). As the pressure increases, the elastomer is further compressed at its point of application and further reduces the passage of water (position 3). As the pressure decreases the elastomer relaxes and reopens the water passage (return to position 2 and 1)

It is therefore important to remember that saving water is a responsibility that we all share together. Precisely because the value of drinking, healthy water is invaluable to each of us, it is our duty to contribute in every way possible to the global effort to preserve the "transparent gold" that is a "source" of life for humanity and our planet. It is the least we can do for the multiple benefits it provides us with on a daily basis.
To achieve this, rational planning of the water supply network is essential. The factors affecting the necessary quantity of drinking water supplied may vary, but with the right actions and measures, this can be achieved.
So how can we ourselves contribute to the effort to protect and properly manage water?
Things are much simpler than we think, and the beginning in this case will be made at home:
α. First of all, by checking our plumbing to detect any possible leaks and by choosing modern household appliances that do not increase unnecessary water waste but contribute to the protection of the environment, we can take the first steps towards a more sustainable future.
β. Equally important (although most of the time it is difficult for us to "move" from our routine) is to change our personal habits, by limiting the amount of water we consume during the day - for example, while we are bathing or washing our face or hands or shaving or washing our dishes - and at the same time setting the right example for the younger members of the family. In this way, we will be taking a small but important step towards protecting a common and 'precious' commodity such as drinking water.
