The 9th LPG Congress that held in Kalamata on 17 and 18 May 2013 completed with great success.
Speakers of the conference were:
1. K. Paspalas: Mechanical Engineer AUTH, ΜΒΑ, Basic author of the Greek Regulation for Fuel Gases.
2. E. Savoni: Chemical Engineer, PhD Technical Manager of Plinoxotar.
3. D. Negic: Sales and Μarketing Μanager της GOK, Member of the German Commission for the Gas Regulations.
4. D. Bonano: Mechanical Engineer, ΜΒΑ, Εxport Μanager of Witzenmann.
5. P. Charitopoulos: Mechanical Engineer AUTH, ΜΒΑ,. UMIST Commercial Manager of CORAL GAS.
6. G. Ch. Andrianos: Electrical Engineer AUTH, ΜΒΑ, CEO of ANDRIANOS.
7. O. Siagkas: Mechanical Engineer AUTH, ΜΒΑ, Scientific Associate of ANDRIANOS.
The Fire Department was represented by the Commander of the Fire Department of Messinia, Pyrarchos K. Kuriakouleas - who also addressed a short speech, by the lieutenant and united the office fire safety, as well as officers of the Fire Department of Ilia (Pyrgos).
The Kalamata's Constructions National Authority was represented by Mr G. Dionisopoulos, Dipl. Eng. Eng. P. Patras, MSC.
As conference delegates participated 55 specialists, from most areas of Greece and Cyprus, who are professionally engaged in LPG projects, who participated actively in all aspects of the conference.
The conference was hosted for the third time in the last ten years by ANDRIANOS company. Sponsors of the conference were: the German company GOK, Italian Plinoxotar, German Witzenmann and Coral Gas.
At the conference were disgused many matters:
1. The existing Technical Legislation was presented
2. There were highlighted the advantages of LPG relative to the environment and the economy and the risk factors of it when the technical regulations are not applied.
3. Analyzed all the basic components of a gas network.
4. There was presented the new European standard for flexible gas EN14800: 2008.
5. Also were discussed changes that will be proposed for the new Technical Regulations.
6. Many specific issues were analysed such as gas pressure change of a static gas network relative to the temperature and also the «icing» phenomenon.
During the Conference took place a visit and guided tour at the archaeological area of Ancient Messene, in which both Greek and foreign participants were impressed by the integrity of archaeological excavation.
Finally the participants, just before the end of the conference, renewed the appointment for the 10th conference of LPG that will probably be held on 4 & 5 June 2014 in Rome.
