Last year, the largest hotel group in Greece, Mitsis Hotel SA (www.mitsishotels.com) invested in TiSUN solar thermal technology for domestic hot water heating of the 5-star hotel unit Mitsis Alila Resort & Spa, located in the beautiful Island of Rhodes.
This year a similar investment was done by the same group for another 5-star hotel, this time at Corfu, the mythical Greek island in the Ionian Sea. The hotel unit Roda Beach Resort & Spa, with capacity of 350rooms/750 beds has particularly high requirements in domestic hot water, with an increased rate of concurrency during the summer. The engineers of Mitsis Group were so impressed by the results of the TiSUN solar thermal installation at Alila Resort & Spa in Rhodes, that they proposed the installation of a new solar thermal system at Corfu. The system was provided by ANDRIANOS, the exclusive representative of TiSUN in Greece, and includes a solar field of 229,5 m2, consisting of 90 TiSUN FMS panels for converting the solar energy into heat and 4 Pro-Clean solar tanks with total capacity of 16.000lt for the storage of thermal energy.
Such investments are an absolute necessity for any Greek company in the hotel industry, given the abundant sunshine and the innovative technology of TiSUN.
